The Montessori method is an educational approach for children in which learning takes place through experience, hands-on activity, and exploration.
In this article from Roya Koodak, we explain what the Montessori method is.
What is the Montessori method and where did it come from?
First, let’s see who Montessori is:
Maria Montessori is the inventor of the Montessori method. She was the first female Italian physician, but at that time she was not allowed to work in hospitals. As a result, she was forced to work in a center for disabled and ill children.
There, Maria Montessori realized that despite the children’s abilities, they were not provided with an environment for growth, learning, and development.
Therefore, she continued her studies in sociology and developed a new educational approach called the Montessori method, in which learning happens through experience, hands-on practice, and exploration.
